Уряд Великобританії відхилив петицію з 4,1 млн голосів за повторний референдум про членство країни в Євросоюзі, повідомляє Новое время

Кабмін країни пояснив свою позицію статистикою: на референдумі пропозицію вийти з ЄС (Brexit) підтримало 33 млн громадян, і цю думку треба поважати, зазначили парламентарії.

Петиція про переголосування стала найпопулярнішою з моменту створення цього інструменту вираження громадської думки в 2011 році.

Нагадаємо, 23 червня в країні відбувся референдум. За його результатами 52% виборців підтримали Brexit при 48% противників цього рішення при явці 72% громадян.

Референдум зруйнував баланс в самій країні і Євросоюзі: прем'єр-міністр Девід Кемерон оголосив про свою подальшу відставку, як і інші лідери британських партій. Шотландія заявила, що хоче залишитися членом ЄС, у зв'язку з чим тут оголосили про підготовку нового референдуму про незалежність Шотландії від Великобританії.
