93-річний колишній президент США Джордж Герберт Вокер Буш вибачився після того, як акторка звинуватила його у сексуальному насильстві.

34-річна акторка Хезер Лінд 24 жовтня заявила про те, що коли вона зустріла Буша, той "сексуально напав" на неї з інвалідного крісла. За її словами, це трапилося чотири роки тому під час фотосесії.

Лінд зауважила, що дружина президента Барбара Буш стояла поруч і бачила, що відбувалося.

Про інцидент дівчина написала на своїй сторінці в Instagram у довгому записі, який наразі вже видалила. У ньому вона розповіла, що вирішила поділитися цією історією, коли побачила фото Буша разом з Бараком Обамою: "...коли я отримала шанс познайомитися з Джорджем Бушем чотири роки тому для промо історичного телевізійного шоу, над яким я працювала, він вчинив насильство щодо мене, поки я позувала для подібної світлини".

За словами Лінд, колишній президент мацав її і розповів брудний жарт. Завершила акторка свій запис словами підтримки для жінок, які зазнали насилля: "Мої колеги-товариші і продюсери допомагали мені того дня і продовжують підтримувати мене. Я вдячна за мужність іншим жінкам, які розповіли про свій досвід".

Колишній президент вибачився за цей інцидент і пояснив, що то був жарт, і він жодним чином не хотів образити Лінд: "Президент Буш ніколи - ні за яких обставин - навмисно не завдає страждань, і він щиро вибачається, якщо його спроба пожартувати образила пані Лінд".
